The Audio Editor
The first time you open the audio editor, you will be prompted to locate the .yyp project file for your Game Maker project. From there, the editor will be able to import files directly from your project files/datafiles. It's possible to create new folders inside the audio editor, however all audio assets themselves must be imported, and any folders which come from your project or external files can't be moved or renamed in the editor.
Please be aware especially of how you name your folders. The editor saves your edits under the name of the folders. So, every folder must have a unique name in order to have unique settings. If you re-name a folder, your are effectively deleting all your settings on it as the editor will treat it as a new folder with a new name.
You can refresh all imported assets anytime by pressing the "RELOAD" button in the main browser.
There are also some additional considerations if you want to use external audio assets.
- SPACE can be used to play/stop the currently open sound or container.
- CTRL+ENTER exits the audio editor and jumps into your game. Use the same command to return to the editor from gameplay.
- CTRL+S saves all your current edits to the project.
- CTRL+Z to load a previous version of your audio settings. _(might be broken right now) _
- CTRL+X to load forward, like a “redo.”
- ALT+C changes the color palette to a “dark” theme.
