Windows Specific Agent Quality & System Prompt

Prevent the agent from suggesting Linux-specific commands on Windows. Audit the system prompt to remove Linux bias and improve error recovery logic.

Initial findings from GCLI

1. Core System Prompt (packages/core/src/prompts/snippets.ts):

   • Linux Bias: shellEfficiencyGuidelines explicitly suggests grep, tail, and head for inspecting temp files. While it adds "(or platform equivalents)", this primes the model to favor Unix tools.
   • Git Chaining: renderGitRepo suggests using && to combine commands. While often supported, this can be flaky in certain Windows environments (e.g., older cmd.exe or specific PowerShell configurations
     without aliases), though less critical than the direct tool references.
   • Missing OS Context: The SystemPromptOptions interface and getCoreSystemPrompt do not accept or utilize process.platform, making it impossible to conditionalize the prompt for Windows.

2. Codebase Investigator Agent (packages/core/src/agents/codebase-investigator.ts):

   • Linux Bias: The system prompt's ExplorationTrace example explicitly uses grep and ls -R, reinforcing the use of these specific Unix commands via few-shot prompting.

3. Prompt Provider (packages/core/src/prompts/promptProvider.ts):

   • Integration Gap: PromptProvider calculates the platform (implicitly via getSandboxMode logic) but does not expose it to the prompt generation logic in snippets.ts.
