"!m @mention" is a goofy way of saying "You're doing good work, @mention!" It comes from an IRC bot that @jamwt wrote at Polimetrix, which YouGov then acquired. I worked for YouGov for a while, and for me it was the weirdest part of onboarding, but it made for a great culture of appreciation. I brought !m over to Gittipay, but now that our center of gravity has moved from IRC to GitHub, we need to teach @gratipay-gremlin how to spring up and announce "You're doing good work, @mention!"

Since GitHub is less real-time than IRC, we should probably throttle every ... 30 minutes? I suppose that can be an envvar for wherever we deploy @gratipay-gremlin (currently all it does for us is kick off new team review tickets, which happens from within the main web app).

I still love !m, it was such a positive thing at both Polimetrix and Bump.
I wish we had it at Dropbox. Gotta inject it into our Slack bot sometime...
