Is there a way to theme the colors? I'm not a fan of the purple.

Not currently but wouldn't be hard to add

Added basic theming in https://github.com/guyfedwards/nom/releases/tag/v2.4.0. Thanks for the suggestion and see the README for details. Let me know if there are more theming options you would like to see.
