AWS Login

These are instructions for how project owners can log into AWS to view billing.

Request a user

Access to AWS, even read only access, should be handed out to those who need it. Request an AWS IAM user be made in order to log in.

Login

The signin link for Ballotnav AWS is https://165842649739.signin.aws.amazon.com/console

Enter your username and password provided to you. Logging in the first time requires a password reset. Choose a strong (32 characters or more) password. Use a password manager like 1Password to store these credentials in.

View Billing

Navigate to Ballotnav cost reports to see some existing reports on usage.

AWS Billing is complex but new reports can be created by customizing or building off some of the existing reports. Here is a blog post that describes filtering by Usage type.

Ballotnav uses these AWS resources:

  • ECS - Elastic Container Service
  • RDS - Relational Database Service
  • ELB - Elastic Load Balancing
  • EC2 - Elastic Compute
