For older Thinkpad models like the xx00 series the EC can not be configured to swap Fn and Ctrl. This setting would usually be exposed in the BIOS setup or in nvram when using coreboot. Enabled by default for models where this can not be configured. Updates: hamishcoleman#4

Hi Hamish, just completed testing on my laptop for a battery patch similar to zmatt (patch addresses differ). It's alive and charging a 3rd party battery (INTENSILO brand), so officially this 'works for me'.
I chose to patch my current BIOS version (2.57/1.12 [G1HT34WW]) rather than upgrade, as that avoided having to flash both bits to test.. also I get to hack multi-version support into your Makefile :)
