Given how often it comes up, I think that we should emphasis in
https://github.com/hapi-server/data-specification/blob/master/hapi-dev/HAPI-data-access-spec-dev.md#374-response-formats that

  1. This is a transport protocol
  2. Why we don't use something like cdf/hdf/etc (non-streaming and library issues)

I think some of this is discussed in the paper, and perhaps we should insert an excerpt.

Add additional comments about the simplicity of format (and very few version changes) and streaming. Also, add anything additional in the paper.
