We've discussed the possibility of a bulk archiving tool. This page collects some of the information, insight, suggestions about that possible feature.

  • Scan a Word/PDF document for URLs and create Perma Links for them. System could return a list with the original URL and a Perma Link that could be tested. The system could then return a list with the original URL and a Perma link that could be tested. It would also return a list of any URLs where Perma links could not be created. [A truly amazing development would be to insert the Perma link next to the original URL in a Word document]

  • Allow users to upload a spreadsheet of URLs, have the system add a column with the corresponding Perma link, and return the updated spreadsheet.

  • If we could upload a file with existing URLS and get back a csv file (or whatever) with those URLs associated with new Permalinks so that we could replace the old with the new, that would be very helpful.

Perma CC++

A student hackathon group took a stab at this and produced an interesting proof of concept.
