Reverts #5575

Based on the complexity of the work I've started on #5627, the fixes to ignore_changes are going to take some time. I don't want to block v0.6.13 tomorrow, since it has a lot of other useful stuff in it, but uuid() without a properly working ignore_changes is going to be a painful experience for everyone.

So let's pull this out until I get #5627 sorted and let @jen20 cut v0.6.13 tomorrow.

Now that #5635 is done with some ignore_changes improvements, re-landed this in 293c6ca
