For the latter, I'm doing the least invasive thing at this point (running
ghcup unset). I could probably try and muck around withupdate-alternativesin the case of the PPA being used, but I'm less inclined to do that because a) it doesn't work if this action is used on a non debian-like distro anyway, and b) the PPA is discontinued and only exists to get really ancient versions of GHC/cabal on old versions of ubuntu.
