This is the initial mapping, as discussed in #785

Hi!
As far as I see you used the same target ( Virtual Multi 1 ) for the black and the first white knob

image

Was that on purpose or was that a mistake?
Because it takes away the functionality of either the black knob or the first white knob

I may also have misunderstood something

Very likely a mistake (unfortunately currently no time to look into it).

Confirmed it's a mistake. I think Enc Black can be safely set to Multi 39 (have tested it)

Any idea if it's possible to send color information to the pads?

I just purchased a MiniLab 3, and found this thread. The current firmware supports relative encoders, and I'm wondering if it'll be at all possible to get midi feedback working for them?

@ajohnsonsfx I actually put together a preset that uses the relative midi info. I'm still working through it, but I'd be happy to post it if you like

sure, I think it wouldn't hurt to update it.

minilab3-user.json
Realearn.minilab3.zip

@ajohnsonsfx Here's what I've got. the JSON is the realearn controller preset and the .minilab3 file is the midi configuration. I setup the CC channels logically and set all the infinite encoders to relative. Just use midi control center to import it. Of course you can modify as you wish, but you may have to relearn the encoders at that point.

if you have any suggestions for edits i'd love to know!

I'd love to know this too... i have no idea...

I found this using a difference checker on Sysex dumps but the individual command doesn't work on it's own apparently.

F0 00 20 6B 7F 42 21 0z 40 yy 01 xx F7

z is User memory slot 1-5 (3-7 Hex)
yy is Pad 1-16 (16 - 25 Hex)
xx is color (42 color palette - 00-29 Hex)

Hello @wellcaffeinated
I'm also have a minilab 3 and I'd like to check your preset. I've already installed the zip file in the MIDI Control Center but I don´t know how to install the json file in the realearn, in order to select and install this preset from reapack. Please, can you help me ?

You can drop the config into the presets directory. You should be able to find it with this

device configurations will be saved in the REAPER resource directory (REAPER → Actions → Show action list… → Show REAPER resource path in explorer/finder) .

I can't remember exactly where though
