HIP 53: 5G subDAO #345
Comments
helium#345 Update 5/20
The filename of the HIP apparently has been changed, the URL in the section "Rendered view: Read the HIP" isn't working any more. For easy of use (because many people who search for HIP 53 get this page with incorrect URL as first search result): Can someone correct this? The now correct URL is: https://github.com/helium/HIP/blob/main/0053-mobile-dao.md |
The HIP has been approved via heliumvote, with +97% voting For HIP 53. On behalf of Helium Foundation, the HIP Editors, and the wider Helium community, I am marking this proposal as approved and recommending that the coredev team implement the necessary changes as soon as reasonably possible. |
This has been implemented. Please see contracts on the Solana blockchain or visit this Repo: https://github.com/helium/helium-program-library. |
HIP 53: 5G subDAO
Rendered view
Read the HIP:
https://github.com/helium/HIP/blob/main/0053-mobile-dao.md
Summary
HIP 51: Helium DAO provides a general structure for onboarding new WNPs to the broader Helium Network, with mechanisms in place to ensure that protocol-specific attributes such as proof-of-coverage rules, data credits pricing, and block validation are within control of the emergent WNT DAO.
In this proposal, we specify the implementation of the structure proposed through a detailed onboarding proposal for the 5G Network. We propose initial configurations of the 5G economics layer as well as governance mechanisms within the DAO through Mobile Network Token (MNT) token voting.
