Shortcuts is a powerful app built into Apple devices (iPhone, iPad, Mac, etc.) that lets you create custom automations, with One Single Tap.
According to Apple’s official guide, “A shortcut provides a quick way to get things done with your apps, with just a tap or by asking Siri. The Shortcuts app lets you create your own shortcuts with multiple steps."
Whether you want to open your favorite playlist, schedule Reminders, batch-edit photos, get directions to the next event on your Calendar, or even generate expense reports―Shortcuts makes it possible. All from the device in your pocket.
With Shortcuts, the potential is pretty much endless!
I first discovered Apple Shortcuts in November 2022 while trying to streamline a few repetitive tasks on my iPhone.
Over time, I realized how much these simple “applets” were transforming my daily life. What started as a curiosity quickly turned into a game changer—the more I built and used them, the more they help me to save time, reduce friction, and reclaim control over how I use my phone.
It made too big of a difference to keep to myself—so I decided to make it public and become a Shortcuts evangelist, committed to show people what was possible and how it could make their lives easier, just like it did for me.
“My central claim in this book is that these two trends—overprotection in the real world and underprotection in the virtual world—are the major reasons why children born after 1995 became the anxious generation.” ― Jonathan Haidt, The Anxious Generation: How the Great Rewiring of Childhood Is Causing an Epidemic of Mental Illness
We live in a digital age where technology has reshaped nearly every aspect of our daily lives.
While this technological revolution has brought countless benefits, it has also introduced significant challenges—particularly in how it affects focus, well-being, and the development of children and adolescents.
That’s where Shortcutomation comes in: help people take back their time, by simplifying digital routines using Apple Shortcuts.
We believe a world where your phone serves you, not distracts you.
A world without cluttered apps.
A world free of mindless doomscrolling.
A world where people click less, scroll less, type less.
A world where everyone lives a calmer, more present and intentional life—focused on what truly matters in the real world.
