Verification and the Journal
As of version 1.6.1, the way contributions are 'verified' has changed to be more transparent.
ACH/EFT contributions always need to be 'verified' because the initial payment request is just submitted to the bank. The actual transaction is not completed for up to 4 days (though usually by the next day). The completion or failure is reported back via the iATS 'report' mechanism.
If you'd like to review how this is happening, and/or look at all transactions on your account without having to log in to the iATS interface, you can now use two new reports that display the contents of the CiviCRM iATS 'journal' table and the 'verify' table. The 'journal' table is a copy of the journal data from iATS and (by default) is updated hourly. The verify table is the result of looking up the pending payments in CiviCRM and completing/failing them based on this journal data.
