Extension for Chromium-based browsers and Firefox to translate Japanese web novels with Sugoi Offline Translation Server (https://www.patreon.com/mingshiba) or DeepL API.
Installation for Chromium-based browsers:
- Download the Source code (zip) archive from Releases
- Unpack the archive
- Open the extensions page (chrome://extensions/)
- Enable Developer Mode
- Press the "Load Unpacked" button and select a folder with manifest.json
Installation for Firefox:
- Download the Source code (zip) archive from Releases
- Unpack the archive
- Delete manifest.json
- Rename manifest-firefox.json to manifest.json
- Open extensions page (about:debugging#/runtime/this-firefox)
- Press the "Load Temporary Add-on" button and select manifest.json
Using with Sugoi:
- Open {Sugoi folder} / backendServer / Program-Backend / Sugoi-Japanese-Translator / offlineTranslation
- Run activateOfflineTranslationServer.bat to start server.
- Now Translate button can be used
Cross-extension messaging
Messages should be sent from content scripts.
