If you're happy with the name and the chosen library for the template tag, yes this can be merged. (From my side also the other pr could be merged) |

Hope that's the correct base branch, if not please tell me if it should be
stable.This PR backports the new
plugin_statictag to be available in 0.15.x for plugins to be backwards compatible.
