The RePhone Smartstrap includes the Xadow NFC v2 module, which is based on the NXP PN532. According to the datasheet, the following functionality is supported:
- ISO/IEC 14443A/MIFARE Reader/Writer
- FeliCa Reader/Writer
- ISO/IEC 14443B Reader/Writer
- ISO/IEC 14443A/MIFARE Card MIFARE Classic 1K or MIFARE Classic 4K card emulation mode
- FeliCa Card emulation
- ISO/IEC 18092, ECMA 340 Peer-to-Peer
One common example of NFC tags that people might have around the house are Nintendo amiibo figures. They appear to be compatible with the Xadow NFC v2 module, and the below table lists results of attempts to read various figures.

According to NFC Tools for Android, the amiibo NFC tag is type ISO 14443-3A NXP MIFARE Ultralight with MifareUltralight, NfcA, and NdefFormatable available. The ID for the above Bowser is displayed as 04:5f:4b:6a:04:3f:81 by this app, i.e. with three additional hex values beyond the value displayed by the RePhone sample watchapp.
