About the Project

ToolKit was created to provide a clean, ad-free environment for users to access various tools without the clutter found on many other websites. The site is built with simplicity and accessibility in mind, allowing contributors to easily add new tools and utilities.

Contributing

ToolKit is a community-driven project, welcoming contributions from anyone with the skills and interest to add valuable tools. We aim to keep the experience consistent, so all tools will use a shared base CSS, with options for minor customizations. To contribute:

  1. Clone the repository and create a new branch.
  2. Add your tool in the appropriate category directory.
  3. Follow the contributing guidelines in CONTRIBUTING.md.
  4. Submit a pull request for review.

Roadmap

My vision for ToolKit includes the following milestones and upcoming features:

  • Phase 1: Initial Setup

    • Define project structure with shared CSS and category organization.
    • Create initial tools (e.g., RGB Picker, Text Encoder).
    • Design and implement core site layout and navigation.
  • Phase 2: Expand Tool Collection

    • Implement a contributor recognition section that automatically lists all contributors.
  • Phase 3: Enhanced User Experience

    • Improve site search functionality for easier navigation.
    • Develop a clean, responsive interface for mobile devices.
    • Add tool descriptions and usage instructions on each tool’s page.
  • Phase 4: Community and Feedback Features

    • Enable a feedback section for each tool.
    • Provide a form for users to suggest new tools or improvements.
    • Implement a voting system to prioritize community-requested features.
  • Phase 5: Advanced Features and Customization

    • Add theming options (e.g., light mode, dark mode).
    • Implement user-specific preferences (e.g., tool layout, recently used tools).
    • Explore options for multilingual support for wider accessibility.
