Julius Busecke is a Senior Research Associate at the Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory of Columbia University, the Manager for Data and Computing at LEAP, and the Lead of Open Research at m2lines. He is a physical oceanographer focusing on the role of ocean transport on various aspects of variability in the coupled earth system. As the manager of Data and Computing for LEAP and the Lead of Open Science for m2lines he serves as a community champion to maintain and improve cloud based open research workflows for students and researchers. He is an active contributor to the pangeo open source python software stack, and is actively developing tools and data repositories to rapidly analyze petabyte scale datasets like CMIP6 in a fully reproducible way in the cloud.
