How can I make mise exec auto install tools?

Hi! I'd like to use mise to manage tools for a project, and I'm wondering if there's a way to avoid an explicit mise install step. For example, I'd like to be able to have a mise.toml like this:

[tools]
stripe-cli = "1.21.2"

And then run a command like this:

$ mise x -- stripe --version

And have it…

• Auto-install stripe if it's never been installed through mise
• Install the correct version if the stripe version in mise.toml has been changed since the last run

However, when I try this out today, I just get the following:

$ mise x -- stripe --version
mise "stripe" couldn't exec process: No such file or directory
mise Run with --verbose or MISE_VERBOSE=1 for more information

I've seen various configuration settings like not_found_auto_install = true but it doesn't change the "no such file or directory" behaviour. Am I missing some setting or option for this? I didn't see any notes in GitHub issues or other discussions.

Coming back to this several months later: this must have been a bug in mise, because now, on version 2024.12.13, it does the right thing:

$ mise x -- stripe --version
Downloading Stripe CLI v1.21.2
Using URL https://github.com/stripe/stripe-cli/releases/download/v1.21.2/stripe_1.21.2_mac-os_arm64.tar.gz
mise stripe-cli@1.21.2            ✓ installed                                                                                           stripe version 1.21.2
