For future reference : Using the following post, I was able to build for both 32bit-armv7 and 64bit-armv8, for both Ethereal and Xiphos.
I have not yet tried with any c++ engines, but since the tool in use is Clang, I suspect no issues.

  1. I'm getting out of the business of building others' engines.
  2. Laser has inline asm instead of intrinsics, so you would have to clean that up first.
