What is the issue specifically? Why doesn't someone fork this code and fix the issue? Why the hype over platformio-ide-terminal?

@coloradomountain That's the thing - people have forked it and it is fixed in their versions. I know of at least three working forks (see my post above). 😄
Platformio-ide-terminal is a fork of this program, and it does work well. To the best of my understanding it was designed to best integrate with Platformio-IDE and so (personally) it looks a little funky in a native Atom window, though it does work well.
Termination (my program) is forked off platformio-ide-terminal and also works well, but its interface is more similar to terminal-plus.
Tokamak-terminal is another fork of platformio-ide-terminal.
