ESP32 CAM connected to network but No Ping and No WebUI

Dear all,

Thanks a lot for these beautiful project... As soon I've discover it, i've read the docs and order the components to try it.

Installation seems to work great. No problems for the Firmware (the web installer is working so great), neither for the SD Card (try both versions, works like a charm).

My ESPCAM is not connected to the network ... but I'm unable to connect to the webUI. That's really strange beacause, it's really connected (it's in the list of my router) but i'm not able to ping it. (I've try to connect from several devices)

Does any of you have an idea of what appends?
According to my readings, I've try : to connect from a device without antivirus, to separate the ESP32 of the prog. PCB,...

I'm assuming that your connection keeps dropping because your RSSI (-89) is pretty bad.

The ESP was far when i recorded the log, but usually it is next to the router so the RSSI is better.

And even next to the router, the problem is the same, the device is connected, but I'm unable to ping it and to connect the web interface...

Or you may have already assigned the IP in your router to another device, then no connection will be established.

no, you have to do that in the firmware.
Port 80 is a standard port and should not be blocked.
I don't know much about it, but I think if port 80 was blocked, you wouldn't be able to visit any site on the Internet.

Thank you. I've tried your firmware:

But unfortunatly its doesn't work. The result is the same (no ping, no webUI... and I fell a little ashame to request you a change in the firmware (Thinking about it, ping dont use port 80, so probably not retlated to that sorry))

Another issue could be your wifi.
Try to disable the 5GHz mode on your accesspoint for a test.
Also some people reported issues with certain wifi channels, see #2961 (comment)

Congratulation! Switch my 2.4GHz channel from 6 to 1 and it resolved the problem !

Sadly the ESP32 seems to be very picky on that and there is nothing we can do against this. :(
