Smart - Water Counter

I would like to open a discussion based on my current unfortunate experience.

I recently got an Smart-Water-Counter which issues the amount of consumed water along with some other useful information via wireless MBUS telegram.
Unfortunately the water supplier does not share the AES key which is used to encrypt the data which makes it completely useless.

That means, the only way how to read the SmartMeter is this project.
The Display comes on after 2 seconds of light hits the photo sensor and swaps through the menu of different information every time the light goes quickly off and on again. It also shows the number of menu in the lower corner which is presently indicated.
After a while of darkness on the sensor, the display goes into sleep mode.

Do you think, it would be feasible to use this software to read this meter?

Maybe. The config includes a setting that turns an led on before the photo. Playing with this could solve your issue. \\Greg
