Checking constant variables should be done using defined function https://www.php.net/manual/en/function.defined.php
Hook for plugin activation was not working in a docker deploy so i changed it following official hooks list https://yourls.org/hooklist.php. After that the plugin was able to successfully create the username column in the database.
