👋 Welcome! I'm Keno Bressem

Attending Radiologist | Cardiovascular Imaging | AI & LLM Researcher | Group Leader | Python Enthusiast


I am a board-certified radiologist specializing in cardiovascular and oncological imaging, with a focus on integrating artificial intelligence and large language models into clinical practice and research. As an attending physician and group leader at the Technical University of Munich and the German Heart Center Munich, I combine clinical expertise with advanced computational methods to address key challenges in diagnostic and translational medicine.


Research Interests

  • Medical AI: Deep learning for image analysis, segmentation, and diagnostic support in large-scale population cohorts (e.g., UK Biobank, NAKO)
  • Body Composition & Epidemiology: Automated MRI/CT analysis for disease risk assessment and biomarker discovery
  • LLMs in Medicine: Information extraction and automated structuring of radiology reports and clinical documentation
  • Open Science: Promoting reproducibility, open data, and collaborative software development across institutions

I lead an interdisciplinary group at TUM and DHM (AIAH Lab), bringing together radiologists, data scientists, and students in collaborative research. Our group is committed to hands-on mentorship, open-source software, and translating innovation into clinical practice.
