Open Journal Systems

Open Journal Systems (OJS) has been developed by the Public Knowledge Project. For general information about OJS and other open research systems, visit the PKP web site.

Using Git development source

Checkout submodules and copy default configuration :

git submodule update --init --recursive
cp config.TEMPLATE.inc.php config.inc.php

Install or update dependencies via Composer:

cd lib/pkp
# if you don't already have Composer installed:
curl -sS https://getcomposer.org/installer | php
php composer.phar update

If your PHP version supports built-in development server :

php -S localhost:8000

Running Tests

Specific requirements : PHPunit. Installing with pear for example :

wget https://phar.phpunit.de/phpunit.phar
chmod +x phpunit.phar
sudo mv phpunit.phar /usr/local/bin/phpunit

Setting up test environment :

mysql -u root -e 'create database ojs'
mysql -u root ojs < tests/functional/testserver.sql
cp config.TRAVIS.inc.php config.inc.php

Running the tests :

./lib/pkp/tools/runAllTests.sh -Cc
