this is just a hint, as I personally use https://github.com/semantic-release/semantic-release for easy releases. so you can just put 0.0.0 in the package.json, use semantic commit messages and it will release it for you automatically. so that you don't have to bump the version manually. if you want the most control of course doing it manually is fine as well. feel free to close if not applicable.
