This is a modification of Mongoose OS IDE extension for Visual Studio Code. The difference between the original one is using mos-native script for building ESP32 applications on MacOS much faster without using a Docker. Hope it saves your time!

boards.json
to the root directory of your Mongoose OS project. In case of missing fileboards.json
at the root directory or incorrect file format the extension will show default boards list defined in the original extension. This feature gives you a possibility to define your personal list of boards with custom build vars. Example of the fileboards.json

Uninstall original extension from Visual Studio Code. Download precompiled extension file mongoose-os-ide-0.7.0.vsix and install it manually, details here: Install extensions from a VSIX. Install mos-native script. Next add "MOS_NATIVE" environment variable as a path to mos_build_local.sh script. If environment variable "MOS_NATIVE" not set the extension works as original one except hidden Remote build
option.

- Run any mos command:
Ctrl+.
- Open device serial log console: toggle "Output" panel

Shift+Ctrl+U

) and select "Mongoose OS" output in a dropdown - To build firmware, open app directory in VSCode, select board and run
build
. Note:mos
tool executes in the first workspace's directory, so only that directory can be built, and it must be a Mongoose firmware directory with themos.yml
file - To flash firmware, select port and run
flash
- To configure wifi, run
wifi NETWORK PASSWORD
- Edit files on a device: select port and click on a file to edit and save
- Edit device config as a file: select port and click on "Device configuration"
