Razor is a research project in package management to explore the benefits of combining higher level dependency solving (yum) and management of installed packages (rpm) into one tool with a efficient, custom storage backend. The main goal is to get dependency solving and package installation as fast as possible, but also to design robustness into the process by controlling on-disk formats and network protocols tightly.
