The state_pending variable is unique to parents. If multiple set commands are issued at once, say programatically. The state_pending variable will be overwritten and only the first item to be set will have the proper setby set.
Perhaps add in the value name, this would mean that the duplication would only become a problem if multiple children existed for the same value (which seems unlikely).
Alternatively, pass the child object?
