What happened?
in #325 there are many reports of volumes getting stuck mounting/unmounting randomly. It seems our current CI test suite is not stressful enough to reproduce the random conditions. So we probably need a stress/long-running test suite (it doesn't necessarily need to block PRs)
in the past I have done some simple manual tests (scale up ~50 pod deployment/statefulset, scale down. Now there is also https://github.com/kubernetes/perf-tests/tree/master/clusterloader2/testing/experimental/storage/pod-startup to consider trying.
What you expected to happen?
How to reproduce it (as minimally and precisely as possible)?
