As we continue down our journey of mapping the IPv6 landscape, it occurs to us that we should be aggregating the data that ipv666 is discovering.

This release includes functionality that allows users to opt-in to sharing the addresses they discover with our web portal. All discovered addresses that are shared in this way will be queryable via our new web site! Hope you enjoy :)

We've decided it's time to be less dumber and have put together some heavy revisions around candidate address generation and fanning out from discovered addresses accordingly.

It might not be much but some initial testing has shown us a 155,144% improvement over v0.2. Give it a try and let us know what you think!!

Welcome all to v0.2.0! Based on some feedback around the first version we decided the next step was to make ipv666 more portable.

We've since gotten things to a point where you can simply:

go get github.com/lavalamp-/ipv666/ipv666

...and you should see ipv666 on your path!

Note that in its current version this software only works on Linux. We've had great success with DigitalOcean as a Linux hosting provider.

This is our first release of ipv666!

We're sure there will be many bugs to fix that will only crop up after release, so we're not ready to call it v1.0 yet. Soon, though 😄
