Please, @LaneaLucy or @pony1k, can you test if this fixes?

Unexpectedly, running a similar code on my laptop with Lua 5.4.7 does not result in an error. Maybe it is related to the older versions of Lua?

I confirm that with Lua 5.1.5 as installed on OpenWrt 23.05.5, the string.format fails when a variable is not existing.

I also tested that adding or "" fixes.

No worries. I tested that a situation giving that error message gets fixed by this pull request on OpenWrt 23.05.5. So I would say that this is ready to merge (but the pull request needs the approval of some other LibreMesh organization member...).
