What is VBANext?

VBANext is an emulator that runs games made for the following handheld systems:

  • Game Boy
  • Super Game Boy
  • Game Boy Color
  • Game Boy Advance

Runs on

VBANext runs on the following systems:

  • XBox 360 (Version is currently out-of-date)
  • PC (Windows/MacOSX/Linux - x86 and x86_64 - through libsnes)
  • GameCube (Homebrew, Custom Firmware, Various Soft/Hard Mods)
  • Wii (Homebrew Channel installed via Letter Bomb/BootMii, GekoOS (version/system dependant))
  • WiiU (Homebrew and/or Haxchi powered Custom Firmware)
  • Nintendo Switch (Homebrew and/or Custom firmware)
  • PlayStation3 (Custom firmware/Jailbreak)
  • Playstation Classic (Custom firmware, Jailbreak, Various Methods)
  • PSP (Custom Firmware, Homebrew (many methods, note the difference of Vita & PSP))
  • PlayStation Vita (Custom Firmware)

Based on

VBANext is based on VBA-M. VBA-M is the most recent version of Virtual Boy Advance, the legendary Gameboy, Gameboy Color and Gameboy Advance emulator. VBA-M is an active Open Source project, receiving updates, new features and bug fixes, allowing it to stay current. VBANext is a heavily modified version of VBA-M. VBANext seeks to improve the efficiency while remaining versatile. Using thoughtful changes to optimize the emulators performance and stability on each platform mentioned above.
