GitHub Actions schedule will silently stop running if repo stops changing #1472

@l0b0

Description

@l0b0

GitHub will silently turn off any scheduled workflows if the repo doesn't receive any new commits within 60 days:

[S]cheduled workflows are automatically disabled when no repository activity has occurred in 60 days.

This affects the CodeQL job) in this repo.

If this happens you need to go to the job page and re-enable it.

If you want to avoid this you might have to find another solution to run jobs on a schedule, such as a systemd service on an AWS EC2 instance.

GitHub has been notified of the issue.
