Inline translate malfunctioning

I enabled the inline translation from Stores->Configuration, for backend and frontend (separately and both together) and I get javascript error in the console:

 SyntaxError: invalid property id

Also it as close to no effect on frontend. The only thing I see are some SCRIPT texts where I assume some translatable javascript texts should be.
Used FF and version alpha94.

@tzyganu, thanks for reporting this issue! The JavaScript should definitely be fixed and we created a ticket for this. As for the SCRIPT text, as I remember it was always this way and no translatable JavaScript texts were available previously even in Magento 1, so appears to be working as designed.
