Reading PDF contents can be very slow, and may leave you with huge notes. Most of the times searching only in metadata is enough to find the file.
Suggested is to add an option to "skip pdf content", leaving only the metadata and tokenized filename.

Yes, I think it will be a good option.
I use my Plugin for importing my scanned files, so I have all my files in one application.
On importing ~ 500 files at once, Joplin is some kind of unresponsive.
