Issues with alt code macros for special French characters

I'm using a 3x5 keyboard and there is little room for special characters. I decided to use the mouse layer to input special characters using alt codes since I don't use the mouse features.

Some keys work correctly, I can input é and è. For most of the keys, an extra letter is inserted after the special character. For example, attempting to write "à" will input "àa". Attempting to write "ê" will write "êb". Moreover, attempting to write the regular "b" will write "êb".

If you need to do macros in QMK, I'd suggest first implementing it in the default keymap for your keyboard. If there are issues with that you can get help from the QMK discord. If it's working there and not working in Miryoku QMK it'll be a helpful reference in diagnosing the issue.

In many of those cases you can just use modifier combinations (typed directly or bound to key or combo) without having to use macros.
