On some models the GPS / Location Tracking stays active even when the test app goes to the background. Ex: HTC One from @dnomadb .

If this is at the SDK level it should probably be a configurable setting?

Yep, it is already in the SDK. The user location setup in the demo app wasn't taking advantage of it as it should have been.
