Slowly adapting for the new standard, I have moved benchmarks to use ES module format rather than UMD and AMD

Are we sure changing this won't break the ability to compare past versions?
@wipfli @xabbu42 can you guys take a look at this?

It's intended to be working in a backwards compatible way, as the benchmarks run like shown in the image. The first column is the older format, and the third is an ES module. Unfortunately, like all changes to bench releases, I don't know how we can verify further without running the release workflow.

I think the code is good in terms of the changes.
I'll let @wipfli and @xabbu42 review and approve this.

I am running the benchmarks from this branch right now. So far, all looks fine.

The benchmarks are just so slow and then I always wonder if using my laptop actually disturbs the measurement. The benchmarks take long compared to my attention span...

The benchmarks worked for me locally. After 30 minutes or so, chrome said that the page was unresponsive. I did use my laptop and was not always on the bench page.

Thanks @birkskyum for all the restructuring of the build process. It is good to have more people who know how the build works.
