At first I wanted little program, that shutdown my pc when all night downloads have been completed. However, it grow to simple netstat.
You can pass config file in fist parameter: simple-netstat /path/to/config/configfilename.
- Mode:
- 1 - Monitor: just watch network and store data in logfile.
- 2 - ShutdownApp: closes program when reaches Positive idle speed pases.
- 3 - ShutdownPC: shutdown pc when reaches Positive idle speed pases. This is done by command
sudo shutdown -hP now.
- Interface: network interface to monitor.
cat /sys/class/net/to find out what interfaces available. - Interval: [seconds] how often program will read network data from sys files.
- Idle speed: [kilobytes per interval] how many kilobytes is transffered in given interval.
- Positive idle speed passes: how many times in a row program find out that notwork traffic is below Idle Speed, and then shutdown pc.
- Verbose: [0-1] be verbose or only log file?
Log file is something like this (ignore second line):

You can paste log file to Calc or Excel to make charts or stuff like that.
