Try..exept is not solutions... you must find specific issue.

I know, but the crash was really strange, and I couldn't find the cause. until it gets fixed, a try/catch is better than an app that crashes and does not open. I am aware and I agree that this is not a good practice, but as an exceptional measure I decided to go sketchy but safe.
