@sandhose I forget: is there a reason not to do this?

If we don't do it then the session managers in existing clients (including Element Web/iOS/Android) will need to make a change.

We actually don't want to do this and instead non-OIDC clients should become "OIDC aware" as described in MSC3824 including the new requirements around session management.
