Hello there - and huge thanks to everyone for contributing to the Mattermost Desktop project! The list of high-quality improvements for our next release is fantastic!

Given our progress, we feel we’re ready to release the next version soon. Here are the proposed dates (all tentative and subject to change):

  • 9/13: Code complete with release-3.4 locked in the desktop repo
  • 9/14: Testing begins on the release candidate
  • 9/20: Last date to cut the final release
  • 9/22: Official release with marketing

We’re proposing to call the app “v3.4” to match Mattermost releases. This makes the experience less confusing to end users, as they would not be using a “v1.4” desktop with “v3.4” Mattermost server. It doesn’t mean we’ll be doing monthly releases - just that when we do, we match to Mattermost version numbers.

To make out next release, there are a few issues that would be great to get in. Would there be any volunteers who would like to help out?
