Can't read the ADC1015 on a Pimoroni Automation HAT on a Raspberry Pi 3

I am trying to read the ADC1015 on a Pimoroni Automation HAT, and am having NO luck; I am getting wildly low numbers. Here is an example with channel 3 (ADC channel 2) wired to 5V.

Range: 6.144
Channel #0 : 0.01% (0.03v)
Channel #1 : 0.01% (0.03v)
Channel #2 : 0.00% (0.00v)
Channel #3 : 0.00% (0.00v)

I am successfully working the SN3218.

Hardware is good; I can read the ADC1015 from Python. {'one': 0.026, 'two': 0.025, 'three': 4.902, 'four': 0.552}

What am I doing wrong? This is adapted from one of the diozero 1.3.5 samples.
