cricket UI fails to launch on Ubuntu 22.04 LTS / gnome desktop #81

System: amd64 Ubuntu 22.04 LTS
MCCI system: mcci-ci02
Cricket: v2.6.1

Symptoms:

$ Cricket
... (lots of warnings -- see attached file)
GdkPixbuf:ERROR:../gdk-pixbuf/io-ico.c:566:gdk_pixbuf__ico_image_begin_load: assertion failed: (size_func != NULL)
Aborted (core dumped)
$

Full log: cricket-crash.log

I tested on MCCI system ci-01, which is Ubuntu 20.04 LTS and XFCE desktop. It spews a lot of messages and looks rather ugly, but doesn't crash. I don't know whether the problem is 20.04 or Gnome desktop.

We will create the setup with 22.04 LTS and test this issue.
