Looks good. Feel free to merge if there aren't any major changes and the CI passes.

It's only a test. I'm not sure the new Cython beta addresses the issue we see. It was easier to push the job to the CI than go read the Cython changelog.

Nope. Problem persists. The issue is tracked here on the Cython side cython/cython#5286
