Depending on whether you are setting up your environment for active development or testing/demo/production purposes, you may or may not create a dedicated service user for the project.
The below guide will assume that if you are following the OS X path, you are setting up a development environment, and you will run all the services under your own user.
If you follow the RHEL 6.6 path, the creation of a dedicated cedar service user is implied.
