bower install cloning the entire repo to my bower_components ?

bower install cloning the entire repo to my bower_components instead of the main file in dist https://github.com/mgcrea/angular-strap/tree/master/dist.

Why is it so ?

Is it some thing that needs configuration to avoid entire repo clone ..

I learnt from twbs/bootstrap#10313 (comment) that there is an ignore attribute that does prevent this entire repo download... Correct me if I am wrong .... this entire repo cloning is really a pain in the butt ..

We use the full repo so that we can use the non-minified source when in dev mode.

so a minified one and a uncompressed one are enough right ? why do we need other files like README , Other source folders ?
